Al-Ofuq Foundation for Youth Development sponsored an environmental trail for summer camp children in the town of Beit Fajjar, with the participation of about 100 children, with the aim of enhancing environmental awareness among children and connecting them with nature and Palestinian heritage.

The Deputy Mayor of Beit Fajjar participated in the event, along with staff from the municipality, the tourist police, the Environment Quality Authority, and the summer camp staff, who accompanied the children during the trail activities.

The trail included a tour of the tourist village of Battir, during which the children learned about a number of the most prominent historical and natural sites in the village, and about the cultural and heritage landscape that distinguishes Battir, including agricultural terraces, springs, water paths, and the surrounding natural environment.

The tour included interactive and awareness-raising activities aimed at introducing children to the importance of preserving the environment and natural and heritage sites, and promoting positive behaviors towards nature, in addition to encouraging them to discover the beauty of the place and learn about its history.

Al-Ufuq Foundation affirmed that organizing such trails comes within its efforts in the field of environmental awareness and working with children and youth, and providing educational and recreational opportunities outside the traditional camp environment, which contributes to building a generation more aware of the importance of protecting the environment and preserving Palestinian heritage.

At the end of the trail, the participants expressed their happiness with this experience, which combined learning, exploration, and entertainment, stressing the importance of continuing such activities that open up space for children to learn about Palestinian nature, history, and culture.
