Bethlehem - The team from Al Ofoq Foundation for Youth Development, represented by Mr. Ibrahim Suleiman and Mr. Nizar Al-Eisa, held a preparatory meeting today, Thursday, June 13, 2024, as part of the "Preparedness and Response" initiative funded by ActionAid. The meeting aimed to discuss potential activities to be implemented in collaboration with the institutions of Tuqu' town. The meeting was attended by Mr. Muhammad Al-Badan, the Mayor of Tuqu', Mr. Taysir Abu Mufrah, the Director of the Municipality, and council members Musa Al-Sha'er and Salem Abu Mufrah.

Both parties agreed on the importance of this initiative, which contributes to an effective and organized response for Palestinian youth regarding emergency situations, especially in Tuqu' town, which has recently faced numerous assaults, practices, and harassment from settlers and occupation soldiers, as it is located on the front line and is divided by a settlement road.

It is worth noting that the initiative will focus on preparing a group of youth from Tuqu' to act as an emergency committee to handle any incidents within the town, through a series of practical and theoretical training sessions.

For his part, Mayor Muhammad Al-Badan expressed his gratitude to the Horizon Foundation and the municipality's readiness to begin implementing the initiative's activities, dedicating all efforts and resources to ensure its success.

In turn, Dr. Muhammad Al-Farajeh, the Executive Director of the Horizon Foundation, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in light of the difficult circumstances faced by Palestinian youth, reaffirming Horizon's mission to engage youth in all efforts that contribute to community development and create a brighter future.
