As part of the "Preparedness and Response" initiative implemented by Al Ofoq Foundation for Youth Development and funded by ActionAid, two training sessions were conducted in collaboration with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Bethlehem, focusing on first aid skills for a group of youth from Tuqu' participating in the initiative.
The first training day was held in the Tuqu' Municipality hall, featuring presentations by Mr. Ahmad Amteir, the coordinator of volunteers and activities in the governorate, and volunteer Wafa Salhab. The session covered various topics, including an introduction to the establishment of the Red Crescent, its operational departments, and the responsibilities of each department. It also emphasized the importance of volunteer work within the organization and the need to promote a culture of volunteering among our people, particularly among the youth at various levels.
The second training day, held in the hall of the Red Crescent Society, focused on practical training in first aid principles. A field tour of the society's departments was conducted, and live demonstrations and practical exercises were carried out, with the youth group actively participating and benefiting from the instructions and recommendations provided by the officers of the Palestinian Red Crescent.
It is noteworthy that the "Preparedness and Response" initiative aims to train a group of young people in the town of Tuqu' to be capable of handling emergency situations through a series of theoretical and practical training sessions and activities.
